There is a second World War Pill box located within Rishton's boundary. This can be found at the bottom of Accommodation Road, on the way to the sewer works.

Its location is overlooking the sewer works, and keeping sentry on the former aircraft factory known as the "English Electric".

Barrage balloons may have been fixed here during the war.

The building is built in red brick, and has a solid concrete roof which is at least 12 inches thick (30 cm).

There was at least one more of these boxes in Rishton, which several people have told me about, and to go and see, but when I have been to it, it has gone! It was on, or near Holt Street recreation ground, I believe near to the top of the field towards the Tottleworth end.
