The jubilee gate is situated at the entrance to the canal on Hermitage Street.
During June 2003, the gate was put in place and was officially opened by the Mayor of Hyndburn. There was a fair placed on Parker Street Green, and canal barges lined the edge of the canal.
A band was present on the green, and stalls selling goods. There were also various entertainments and game stalls on the green.
The gate was designed by school children from Norden, showing a dragon fly, wasp, bee and other insects, and was erected to commemorate the Queens Golden Jubilee in 2002.
The entire event was organised and arranged by the Rishton Prospects panel.
