Site of shaft marked by mound of pit spoil in field west of road leading to New Inns.
Joseph Barnes had a coal staithe at Norden Bridge during the 1850's.
This picture shows the remains of Norden drift at the side of the canal at Norden.
There were two shafts 51 ft, & 80 ft, deep. This was mined for fire clay.
Abandonment 17 August, 1897.
