Forming part of the boundary between Rishton and Blackburn, the brook can be found at the junction of Blackburn Road at Knuzden, near to the Intack junction.
The stream is flowing South at this point, under the road and away to Shadsworth.
The stream is formed behind Intack Road, and can next be clearly seen at Whitebirk, behind the Red Lion Public House.
This area of field is liable to flooding, and once contained Whitebirk Colliery. The field often looks like a lake during prolonged wet periods.
From here the stream is culverted under the road, and reappears in the field on the other side, and continues through this field running along Davis pet food factory. Here it is culverted once more and goes under the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, appearing on the other side.
With the changes over the years from here the lay of the stream has been altered many times. Currently it now heads towards Whitebirk Drive, in a purpose made ditch, before disappearing into a culvert. OS maps show the brook turning towards Blackburn, to Blakewater Road from here and the Boundary changes also.
