Mr Counsell was a picture dealer who turned his hand to photography. He had a shop in the centre of High Street at number 52.
His son William carried on this profession after his father and the shop was still open in 1947.
Many of the photos on this web site were taken by the Counsells, as the camera tripod was set up on Gardens opposite the shop for parades and so forth.
Regular visitors to the eBay website will often find postcards for sale portraying Counsells photographs on the front.
