  • Left Hand Side - 2 blocks of two tiered semi detached houses with gardens front and rear.

  • Right Hand Side - the back of the houses on Elm Close.

Hawthorn Avenue in July 2001.

This is the first turning off Petre Crescent when you take the top road.

It is also easy to find as the road leads to the golf club, and is signposted all the way down Walmsley Avenue.

Hawthorn Avenue was built on part of Occupation Road, which was the name given to the road that lead to the Golf Club, before the South Side estate was constructed.

Just beyond the houses, and before the bridge over the railway to the golf club, the road widens to create a turning point. There is also a footpath on the opposite side which leads to Elm Close.
