Rishton Brass Band (Preston)

Lancashire Quarter Sessions - Preston, Midsummer 1904 - "Notice and grounds of appeal of Walter Albert Duckworth, weaver, and Secretary of Rishton Brass Band Institute, and Joshua Duckworth, steward, against order that the club be struck off the register of clubs following complaint of John Smith McKeand of Church, superintendent of police" Then, "Order of the Court of Summary Jurisdiction that Rishton Brass Band Institute be struck off the register of clubs for habitually contravening the rules"

Rishton Subscription Band

Active in 1889

It was reported on the 13th November 1951, that several instruments had been found in an old building, and it was decided to make enquiries from local persons regarding their future value

King's Park Big Band

On Saturday 24 April 1999, A BIG band from East Lancashire wanted to get bigger.

The King's Park Big Band, which was based in Rishton and rehearses in Burnley, is looking for new members to enhance their sound.

The ensemble, formed in 1992, played material including Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Glenn Miller.

Elizium Rock Group

This local Rock band all hail from the Hyndburn area, three of the four members coming from Rishton.

The band had their first gig during 2001, when new band member Marc joined them, after the previous members had been together for some time.

Competing in the local heats for the battle of the bands at the Castle in Blackburn on August Bank Holiday, the group have gone on to play many more gigs, improving their stage act with every performance.

The group currently consists of David on lead and Rhythm guitar, Kevin on Bass guitar, Ste on drums, and Marc, the lead singer and guitarist.

Amongst their favourite songs are "Alan the Alien" and "Down by the Canal"
